Removal, check of a condition and installation of a camshaft and pushers

For performance described below works the following special tools be required: a micrometer (for measurement of diameters of necks of a camshaft), a tsiferblatny measuring instrument of plunzherny type (for check of palpation of a shaft).

Removal

The camshaft can be removed at the engine established on the car. However, previously it is necessary to remove a front grille, a radiator, the condenser of the conditioner of air (if enters into a complete set) and the skotootboynik in view of what originators of this Management recommend in the presence of access to the elevating equipment after all to remove the engine.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the engine from the car.
  2. Remove a head of cylinders with laying.
  3. Take pushers from the block of cylinders, putting them as installation on the block.
  4. Establish a tsiferblatny measuring instrument a plunzher to a surface of an asterisk of a camshaft (see an accompanying illustration), then, moving a shaft the lever in the longitudinal direction, measure its size axial люфта. If люфт exceeds 0.05 mm, replace a persistent plate of a shaft.

  1. Remove chains and asterisks.
  2. Give bolts of fastening of a persistent plate of a camshaft. Prepare a piece of a strong wire which can be entered into the block of cylinders for the purpose of a camshaft pripodnimaniye in the course of its extraction.
  3. Temporarily establish into place a camshaft asterisk for the purpose of simplification of procedure of extraction of the last.
  4. Carefully take a camshaft, using the prepared wire for supporting in the lifted provision of the back end of a shaft for the purpose of prevention of damage of a soft material of bearings.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wash out a camshaft and pushers in suitable solvent, then dry them, blowing in the compressed air.
  2. Check working ledges of cams and a neck of bearings on existence of signs of wear in the form of cavities and development of a layer of superficial training. By means of a micrometer measure height of each cam and diameters of bearing necks of a shaft. Write down results and compare them to standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management). In case of need replace a camshaft.

At detection on cams of a shaft of cavities or other traces of excessive wear it is necessary to make also careful survey of working surfaces of pushers. At replacement of a shaft it will be correct to replace and pushers.

  1. To Oboprita a camshaft on two V-shaped blocks and by means of a tsiferblatny measuring instrument measure size of its palpation. In case of need replace a shaft.
  2. Check camshaft bearings on existence of scratches, задиров and a material otsloyeniye. At emergence of suspicions about wear of bearings measure by a micrometer their diameters. Originators of this Management recommend to make replacement of bearings in the workshop of car-care center specializing on restoration of engines where there is all necessary for performance of this task the equipment.
  3. Measure external diameters of all pushers and compare results of measurements to standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management). In case of need replace pushers.

Installation

Installation is made as it should be, the return to a removal order.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Establish a camshaft in the block of cylinders, as well as at removal using for simplification of procedure temporarily put on asterisk and a piece of a strong wire. Track, that all bearing surfaces were greased with pure impellent oil.
  2. Establish pushers in the former nests (if did not make replacement).
  3. Establish a persistent plate of a camshaft (new if axial люфт a shaft exceeded admissible value). Tighten bolts of fastening of a plate with effort of 7 ÷ 8 Nanometers.
  4. Establish the other components which have been removed in the course of dismantle.
