Service of a head of cylinders

Removal and installation

For performance described below procedures the following special equipment is required: the tool for compression of klapanny springs, a micrometer and a planeness measuring instrument (an edge of a steel ruler).

Removal

The head of cylinders in principle can be removed assembled with the inlet pipeline and a final collector, however in view of relevancy of massogabaritny characteristics of such assembly originators of this Management recommend to adhere to the performance of procedure stated below an order.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Take care of protection against damages of a paint and varnish covering round an impellent compartment.
  3. Empty cooling system.
  4. Remove assembly of yokes with bars of pushers, the inlet pipeline and a final collector.
  5. Weaken shlangovy collars and disconnect hoses of systems of cooling and the heating, heads of cylinders stirring to removal.
  6. Give a bolt of fastening of an adjusting bracket of the generator on a head of cylinders.

In order to avoid deformation of a head of cylinders do not give bolts of its fastening until the engine completely will not cool down.


  1. Give forward bolts of a head of cylinders in the neighbourhood with the water pump (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Gradually weaken bolts of fastening of a head, operating as it should be, return shown on an accompanying illustration. At extraction of bolts watch to dropping in the engine a washer from a bolt No. 23.
Order of a tightening of bolts of a head of cylinders - forward bolts are not visible and should be tightened after end of a tightening of the main.
  1. By means of the assistant take a head of cylinders from an impellent compartment. Try not to damage interfaced surfaces casually.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure of absoluteness of purity of interfaced surfaces of the block and a head of cylinders, - on them should not remain agnails, задиров and traces of a material of old laying.
  1. Check a head of cylinders on existence of deformations for what measure size of its not planeness on a diagonal and along an interfaced surface (use a planeness measuring instrument (an edge of a steel ruler) and shchupy lezviyny type - see an accompanying illustration). In case of identification of signs of deformation the head should be pierced, having brought its condition into accord with standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management), or to replace.
  1. Similarly check planeness of an interfaced surface of the block of cylinders. Execute necessary repair (pro-point), or replace the block.
  2. Lay new laying of a head on the engine block, having tracked correctness of combination of its openings with directing pins and working openings in the block.
  3. Establish on the block a head of cylinders, slightly oil carvings of bolts and a washer and screw fixture.

Washers should be established by facets to heads of bolts.

  1. Freely screw forward bolts of a head.
  2. Tighten the main fixing bolts in an order shown on an illustration on the following scheme:
    1. At the first stage tighten bolts (main) with effort of 29 Nanometers;
    2. Further tighten them with effort of 78 Nanometers;
    3. Completely weaken bolts upside-down;
    4. Again tighten them with effort of 29 Nanometers;
    5. Tighten bolts with effort of 64 ÷ 74 Nanometers, or (that is more preferable) by means of a goniometer for 69 ° ÷ 70 °.
  3. Tighten forward bolts of a head with effort of 6.4 ÷ 7.5 Nanometers.
  4. Establish into place assembly of yokes and a bar of pushers, and also the inlet pipeline and a final collector.
  5. Start the engine and check it on leaks.

Dismantling of a head of cylinders

Performance of major maintenance of a head of cylinders demands use of the special equipment. Acquisition or rent of such equipment usually appear economically unprofitable at repair only one head. In view of the aforesaid it will be expedient to charge performance of major maintenance of a head of cylinders to experts of a workshop of dealer office of the manufacturing company of the car, or car repair shop. In some firm workshops it is possible to get the replaceable restored head that allows to reduce a car idle time considerably on an exchange basis.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a head of cylinders from the engine.
  2. Uncover the thermostat a head of cylinders, take the thermostat and remove traces of a material of old laying from interfaced surfaces.
  3. Before extraction of valves remove coal deposits from combustion chambers. It will allow to minimize risk of damage of valves and their saddles.
  1. Lay a head of cylinders sideways and by means of the special tool compress springs of the first of valves (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Take from a plate of klapanny springs crackers of the cutting lock (components of valves are shown on an accompanying illustration).

  1. Release the tool and remove a plate of springs, springs and saddles of springs.
  2. By means of a file remove visible agnails and roughnesses from flute edges under installation of crackers of the cutting lock on a valve core, then take the valve from a body of a head of cylinders.
  3. Operating according to the described scheme take all remained valves, putting them it is ordered with a binding to installation sites.

The lath perfectly will be suitable for the ordered warehousing of valves with twelve numbered openings in which it is necessary to stick cores valves in the order of their installation in a head.

  1. Carefully hooking, remove from cores of valves maslootrazhatelny caps. Will throw out them.

Cleaning and check of a condition of a head and its components

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Carefully clear valves and reject defective (with прогарами, cracks and deformation of cores).
  2. Carefully remove the accumulated deposits from receptions and final ports of a head, cores of valves and their directing plugs. Try not to damage interfaced surfaces.
  3. Clear an interfaced surface of a head, channels of a water shirt, a support and a nest of installation of the thermostat.
  4. Wash up a head of cylinders in kerosene, wash out water from a hose, then carefully dry in order to avoid corrosion development.
  1. Insert each valve into the directing plug. Lift the valve so that the end face of its core acted on 30 mm. Fix a tsiferblatny measuring instrument so that its plunzher rested against forming surface of a shaft of a core of the valve (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Shake the valve forward-back parallel to the plane of an arrangement of a yoke. If the measuring instrument fixes a course over 0.2 mm, measure internal diameter of the directing plug and external diameter of a core of the valve by means of a micrometer (see an accompanying illustration). Compare results of measurements to standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management), in case of need replace worn-out components. Repeat procedures for all valves.

As for removal and installation of directing plugs the head is required to be warmed up to temperature 150 ° ÷ 160 ° With, and plugs after installation competently to develop, it is desirable to charge performance of this work to the expert.

  1. Replace all spherical caps (vyzhimny jams of a water shirt) heads of the cylinders which serviceability of a condition raises doubts.
  2. Check planeness of interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders (see the subsection Removal and installation). In case of need pierce surfaces or replace components not subject to restoration.
  3. Check serviceability of functioning of the thermostat.

Restoration of working surfaces of plates and saddles of valves

The qualified mechanic having at the order special tools should carry out this work. Originators of this Management recommend to charge it to experts of a workshop of car-care center.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Pierce a plate of each of valves under the corner stipulated by standards (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management). In case of need grind off a valve core on the plane, however do not remove more than 0.2 mm of a material. If the width of a cylindrical part of a forming surface plates (corbel) leaves out of the bottom admissible limit, the valve is subject to replacement.

  1. Check straightness of a core of the valve. In case of identification of an excessive bend also replace the valve.
  2. At a pro-point of saddles of valves surely equip a cutter special directing. As a result of processing the smooth indissoluble working facet should be received.
  3. Excessively worn-out saddles are subject to replacement.
  4. On termination of processing of saddles the width of their working facets should correspond to standard requirements which are various for inlet and final valves (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).
  5. For check of development of a spot of contact grease a working surface of a plate of the valve with the Berlin azure, then establish the valve in a head and повращайте, having pressed to a saddle. After a separation of a plate of the valve on a working facet of a saddle the uniform indissoluble ring, coaxial saddle axes should be formed. Check similarly quality of processing of all valves/saddles.

Check of a condition of klapanny springs

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Measure free length of klapanny springs. Compare results of measurements to standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).
  2. Check springs on existence of signs of deformation.
  3. If the special diagnostic tool near at hand is not available, compare length of the loaded spring to that for a new spring. For this purpose rest springs end faces each other, having laid between them a flat plate or a washer, then compress assembly in a vice. After data of sponges of a vice approximately on 13 mm the length of a serviceable spring should not differ from length new more than for 5 %. In case of need replace a spring.

Assembly of a head of cylinders

Assembly is made as it should be, the return to a dismantle order.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before the beginning of assembly make sure of absoluteness of purity of ports and klapanny saddles - on their surfaces should not remain any traces of extraneous materials. Slightly oil directing plugs of valves and establish saddles of springs.
  2. By means of a piece of a suitable tube plant on directing plugs maslootrazhatelny caps of cores of valves. Depth of landing should be observed with the maximum accuracy (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Grease cores of valves and enter them into the corresponding directing plugs.
  2. Put on a core of the valve of a spring and their plate, having tracked that springs appeared are turned by rounds with the truncated step towards a head. Compress assembly by means of the special tool.
  3. Establish in a flute on a core crackers of the cutting lock and release the tool. Slightly обстучите a core end face a hammer for a usadka of crackers in a flute.
  4. Repeat procedure for the remained valves. Establish a head on the block of cylinders.
