Replacement of epiploons of a cranked shaft

For performance described below works the stripper (for removal of a pulley of a cranked shaft) is required.

Epiploon of a cover of a gas-distributing chain

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Empty system of cooling and remove a radiator.
  3. Remove driving belts from pulleys of the steering pump, the generator and the compressor of the conditioner of air (if the last enters into a car complete set).
  4. Give a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft. To block a pulley from a provorachivaniye it is possible by means of an old driving belt and the suitable lever.
  5. Remove from a bolt a big washer, then screw a bolt back for the purpose of protection of an end face of a pin of a shaft against damage at a stripper emphasis in it.
  6. Establish a stripper on a pulley of a cranked shaft and remove a pulley from the engine.
  7. By means of a special stripper or a screw-driver with a flat sting carefully take an epiploon from a cover of a gas-distributing belt, trying not to damage contact surfaces in a cover and on a pin of a cranked shaft.
  8. Clean a landing nest, slightly grease a new epiploon and plant it in a cover by means of a suitable opravka or wooden whetstone.

The epiploon should be established in a cover by the main sponges forward (towards the engine), and the external face surface of an epiploon should appear aflush with a surface of a cover of a gas-distributing belt.

  1. Check a condition of a surface of a pulley of a cranked shaft contacting to an epiploon, remove from it the found small agnails and roughnesses by means of a thin emery paper. In case of detection of rough defects the pulley should be restored, or to replace.
  2. Slightly grease with hermetic on perimeter an internal surface of a pulley of a cranked shaft and plant a pulley on a shaft pin by means of a hammer with soft the brisk. Grease with hermetic a carving and a washer of a fixing bolt and tighten the last with effort of 142 ÷ 152 Nanometers.
  3. Fill cooling system, start the engine and check on leaks.

Back epiploon

For ensuring access to a back epiploon of a cranked shaft it is necessary to remove the engine, or transmission. The choice is defined by existence of the necessary elevating equipment.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove transmission from the car, or take the engine.
  3. On models from RKPP remove from a flywheel coupling assembly.
  4. Remove from the engine the case pallet.
  5. Give fixing bolts and remove the holder of a back epiploon from the engine. Remove from the holder all traces of a material of liquid laying.
  6. Lay the holder on wooden blocks and beat out from it an epiploon (see an accompanying illustration) by means of a hammer and a suitable drift.

  1. Slightly oil sponges of a new epiploon of m establish a sleeping bag in the holder by means of a suitable opravka, or wooden whetstone.

The epiploon should be established in the holder by the main sponges forward (towards the engine), and the external face surface of an epiploon should appear aflush with a surface of the holder.

  1. Lay a hermetic pillow in diameter of section 2 of ÷ 3 mm in a flute on the holder, then within five minutes press the holder to the engine. In stages tighten fixing bolts with effort of 21 ÷ 26 Nanometers.

Before starting the engine let's to hermetic dry up within about thirty minutes.

  1. Establish into place all components removed in the course of dismantle.
