Replacement of epiploons of a cranked shaft

For performance described below works the stripper (for removal of a pulley of a cranked shaft) is required.

Forward epiploon

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Empty system of cooling and remove a radiator.
  3. Remove driving belts from pulleys of the steering pump, the generator and the compressor of the conditioner of air (if the last enters into a car complete set).
  4. Give a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft. To block a pulley from a provorachivaniye it is possible by means of an old driving belt and the suitable lever.
  5. By means of a special stripper (for removal of a damper of krutilny fluctuations) remove from the engine a pulley of a cranked shaft.
  6. Remove a gas-distributing belt.
  7. Remove from a pin of a cranked shaft a cogwheel and a back directing plate of a gas-distributing belt.
  8. Take from a shaft pin a cogwheel shponka.

If a shponka not to remove, at removal of the oil pump the epiploon will be damaged.

  1. Give bolts of fastening of the oil pump to the block of cylinders. Tapping on the lower part of an internal surface of the pump, remove it from a pin of a cranked shaft. Will throw out laying.
  2. By means of a special stripper or a screw-driver with a flat sting carefully take an epiploon, trying not to damage the pump.
  3. Check purity of a nest of landing of an epiploon, slightly grease a new epiploon on perimeter with hermetic. Plant an epiploon in a nest aflush with an end face of the case of the pump.

The epiploon should be established by the main sponges to the engine and aflush with the case of the oil pump.

  1. Grease with hermetic both of the party of new laying of the pump.
  2. Slightly oil sponges of an epiploon and put on pump assembly a pin of a cranked shaft, having tracked that лыски an internal gear wheel correctly entered into gearing with cranked shaft.
  3. Level the provision of assembly of the pump and its laying on the block of cylinders and screw fixing bolts. Tighten bolts with effort of 9 ÷ 11.8 Nanometers.
  4. Check a condition of a surface of a pulley of a cranked shaft contacting to an epiploon, by means of an emery paper remove minor defects in the form of agnails, задиров and scratches. In case of detection of deep damages the pulley should be subjected to regenerative repair, or is replaced.
  5. Apply a thin film hermetic on perimeter of an internal surface of a pulley of a cranked shaft and plant a pulley on a shaft easy postukivaniye of a hammer with soft the brisk. Grease with hermetic a carving and washers of fixing bolts, screw bolts and tighten them with effort of 142 ÷ 152 Nanometers.
  6. Fill cooling system, start the engine and check it on leaks.

Back epiploon

For ensuring access to a back epiploon of a cranked shaft it is necessary to remove the engine or transmission. The choice is left for the performer depending on existence of the necessary elevating equipment.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the engine from the car, or remove transmission.
  3. Remove from a flywheel coupling.
  4. Remove from the engine the case pallet.
  5. Remove from the engine the case pallet.
  6. Give fixing bolts and remove from the engine the holder of a back epiploon of a cranked shaft (components are shown on an accompanying illustration). Remove from the holder all traces of liquid laying.

  1. Lay the holder on pair of wooden blocks and beat out from it an epiploon by means of a suitable drift and a hammer.
  2. Slightly oil a new epiploon and plant it in the holder by means of a suitable opravka or wooden whetstone.

The epiploon should be established by the main sponges to the engine and aflush with an external surface of the holder.

  1. Lay in a flute of the holder a hermetic pillow section of Ø 2 ÷3 of mm and press assembly of the holder to the engine. In stages tighten fixing bolts with effort of 21 ÷26 of Nanometer.

Before starting the engine wait for not less than half an hour, having allowed that to stiffen properly to hermetic.
