Safety locks, fusible inserts and relay Check of a condition and replacement of safety locks

For replacement of the failed safety lock use only corresponding to it on a nominal current (see marking on the safety lock case). Installation of the safety lock calculated on higher current it is fraught with damage of electroconducting and ignition. |

Uncover the assembly block and study information given on it for determination of location of safety locks of protection of various contours.
Take a safety lock from a nest in the block and visually check its condition.
In the absence of external signs of damage check a safety lock on conductivity existence by means of an ohmmeter or a lamp sampler.
The failed safety lock replace on corresponding to it on parameters.
If after safety lock replacement the contour on the former does not function, or the new safety lock fails at once, it is necessary to check a chain on existence in it short circuit, or to address for consultation to the qualified electrician.

Check of a condition and replacement of fusible inserts
|
For replacement of a fusible insert use only inserts of firm manufacturing and the same parameters. Installation of the insert calculated on higher current it is fraught with damage of electroconducting and ignition. The new fusible insert should be established only after examination and elimination of the reason of failure old. |

The main fusible insert (also) is located on an arm near the storage battery (see an accompanying illustration). |

Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
Disconnect a fusible insert.
Check an insert on existence of external signs of an overheat.
At a working external order check an insert on conductivity existence by means of an ohmmeter or a lamp sampler.
The failed insert replace new, connect the battery and check serviceability of functioning of the corresponding contour.
If the contour on the former functions, or the new insert immediately fails, it is necessary to check a chain on existence in it short circuit, or to address for the help to the professional electrician.

Location of the relay

Relays of systems of electric equipment are located in various points of the car. |

Relays auxiliary accessories, systems of ignition and heating are located in the assembly block of safety locks. Other relays are fixed in a metal cover near the battery (see an accompanying illustration). |
Identification of location of each relay is put on a reverse side of a cover.
The timer of blocking of doors, the breaker of a contour and the relay of the electric drive of window regulators are located behind a ware box. |
