Diagnostics of malfunctions of systems of electric equipment of the engine

Battery and charge system

Level of a charge of the battery is low

The driving belt (belts) of the generator is torn off, or weakened its tension. Check a belt condition (see an accompanying illustration). Execute tension adjustment, or replace a belt (belts).

The regulator of tension of the generator is faulty. Replace the defective block.

The battery is faulty. Establish the new normally charged battery of demanded type.

The generator is faulty. Execute necessary regenerative repair, or replace the generator.

Electroconducting of a contour of a charge is faulty. Check, make necessary repair, or replace a plait.

Electric sockets of a contour of a charge are faulty. Check, make necessary repair or replace defective components.

The fusible insert fused. Eliminate the reason of an exit of an insert out of operation, replace an insert.

Check charge level (specific weight of electrolit) batteries (see. Head of System of electric equipment of the engine). If the charge of the battery is too low, try to establish the reason, operating in the order specified above.

Level of a charge of the battery is excessively high

The regulator of tension of the generator is faulty. Replace the defective block.

The generator is faulty. Execute necessary regenerative repair, or replace the generator.

Electroconducting or electric sockets of a contour of a charge is faulty. Check, make necessary repair or replace defective components.

Weakened bolts of fastening of the generator, or bearings of the last are worn-out. Tighten fixture, or replace bearings.

Weakened fastening of a driving pulley of the generator. Tighten a pulley nut with demanded effort.

Generator diodes are faulty. Execute necessary repair.

For localization of a source of noise weaken landing of the generator and remove a belt (belts). If at engine start for short time noise are not shown, check a belt condition (it) and повращайте manually the generator for check of its bearings (see an accompanying illustration).

Battery and start system

The starter does not develop sufficient capacity for an engine provorachivaniye

The battery is discharged. Check serviceability of system of a charge, execute necessary repair.

The battery does not "hold" a charge. Check a battery condition, in case of need make its replacement.

Plugs or tips of wires of the battery are oxidized, or weakened fastening of the last. Smooth out, tighten terminal clips.

The starter is faulty. Check, execute necessary regenerative repair.

The switch of the traction relay of a starter is faulty or quality of contacts is broken. Check, in case of need replace the traction relay.

Check level of a charge of the battery and a condition and reliability of fastening of all terminal connections. In case of need check serviceability of a starter and execute necessary repair (see. Head of System of electric equipment of the engine).

Ignition system

The engine is not started

Defect of primary contour of ignition takes place. Check a contour, execute necessary repair.

Primary or secondary winding of the coil of ignition is faulty. Replace the coil.

On models of 4.2 l the obgoraniye or pollution of contacts of the breaker can take place. Smooth out or replace contacts, execute breaker adjustment.

On models of 3.0 l violation of installation of an air gap of a rotor of the sensor of ignition is possible. Execute necessary adjustment.

On models of 3.0 l refusal of an alarm rotor, a stator or the control unit is possible. Replace defective components.

The distributor cover is burst, or coal paths on its internal party (see an accompanying illustration) take place. Replace.

Will burst a distributor begunok. Replace.

Defect of VV of wires takes place. Check (see an accompanying illustration), replace.

Spark plugs are faulty, or installation of an interelectrode gap is broken. Replace, or smooth out candles and expose interelectrode gaps.

On models of 4.2 l the ballast resistor can fail. Replace a defective component.

The engine rotates, but does not develop the demanded capacity

Installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition is broken. Check, modify.

It is jammed, or the mechanism of the centrifugal proof-reader of an advancing of ignition is excessively worn-out. Execute major maintenance of the distributor.

The vacuum proof-reader of an advancing of ignition does not function. Check a condition of hoses and serviceability of the block.

The vacuum proof-reader functions with the lowered efficiency. Driving draft is disconnected or broken.

Spark plugs are polluted or faulty, or installation of an interelectrode gap is broken. Replace candles, or clean them and expose an interelectrode gap.

On models of 4.2 l can appear breaker contacts are polluted, or there was a violation of their installation. Smooth out and adjust contacts, or replace them.

In a cover of the distributor condensate accumulated. Check, dry a cover and check it on existence of cracks and coal paths.

The ignition coil is faulty. Check, replace.

Wire VV are faulty. Check, replace the defective.

On models of 3.0 l violation of installation of an air gap of a rotor of the sensor of ignition is possible. Execute necessary adjustment.

On models of 3.0 l refusal of an alarm rotor, a stator or the control unit is possible. Replace defective components.

For check of serviceability of functioning of the centrifugal proof-reader of an advancing of ignition uncover the distributor and turn a begunok in the direction of normal rotation. Ignition admissions in the engine take place
