Automatic transmission

General information

Cars described in this Management are equipped with 4-step automatic transmission of RE4R03A with electronic control and being blocked at inclusion of raising fourth transfer by the rotation converter.

The design of transmission of models of late years of release (since 1992) with engines of 4.2 l of EFI differs only insignificant updating of some internal components and big dimensions of the converter of rotation.
The choice of raising transfer on models of late years of release is carried out by means of the press button which has been built in in the handle of the lever of the selector. At the pressed button transmission with increase of speed of movement is transferred to raising fourth transfer. When the button is released, inclusion of the fourth transfer is blocked. Such mode is useful in need of braking by the engine, or to prevention of frequent switching from the third transfer on the fourth, for example at movement in the conditions of an intense city cycle.
The electronic control system consists of the electronic control unit (ECU), functioning together with the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS), the butterfly valve sensor switch, the sensor of turns of the engine, the sensor of turns, the sensor of speed of movement, the sensor of temperature of transmission oil, the switch of moshchnostny modes, the mode sensor switch kik-Down and the sensor switch of permission of start.

At refusal any of sensors / датчиков-выключателей, ECU includes emergency operation of functioning of AT in which the car can be driven away in the closest workshop of dealer office of the company manufacturer for performance of professional repair. At low temperatures of AT the sensor of temperature of transmission oil does not allow inclusion of raising transfer and blocking of the converter of rotation.

The switch of moshchnostny modes operates order of switching of transmission. At switch installation in the situation AUTO transmission with increase of speed of movement of the car is switched to the fourth transfer that allows to reduce fuel consumption. Nevertheless, at sharp acceleration the control lamp of switching of a moshchnostny mode that speaks about change of a mode of switching of transmission for the purpose of increase of efficiency of return of the engine can light up. When the switch is in the situation POWER, transmission switching on the fourth transfer does not occur that provides the maximum return when braking by the engine, for example during abrupt descent.

The switch of modes on models of late years of release is established in the central part of the dashboard and allows to make switching between three modes: AUTO, POWER and HOLD. The POWER mode is used at sharp acceleration or during a steep slope. The situation AUTO corresponds to a normal mode of economical fuel consumption. Installation of the HOLD mode allows to hold transmission on chosen as the selector lever to transfer (I, II, III or OVERDRIVE (raising)).

Hydraulic transmission liquid circulates through located in a radiator a maslookhladitel. Maslookhladitel is connected to transmission by means of tubes. Level of transmission liquid is supervised by means of measuring щупа, the impellent compartment located in the right part.

Transmission acts in film from the car assembled after preliminary removal of a transfer case.
