Service of shock-absorbers

Removal and installation

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on the props got under a case of the forward bridge. Give a nut of fastening of the top end of the shock-absorber to the car chassis. Remove washers and rubber plugs (see an accompanying illustration).

3 — rubber plugs
4 — the shock-absorber
    Give a nut of fastening of the bottom end of the shock-absorber to a basic plate of the forward bridge. Remove washers and rubber plugs. Remove the shock-absorber from the car.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Track correctness of installation of rubber plugs and fixture washers. Track correctness of installation of the shock-absorber. The dustproof coupling should be turned down and put on for the bottom end of the shock-absorber. Tighten the top and bottom fixing nuts with effort of 42 ÷ 52 Nanometers after the weight of the car will be completely transferred on wheels.

Check and pumping

Below the description of procedures of check of a condition of the shock-absorber which performance does not need the special equipment is provided.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Examine the shock-absorber case on existence of dents, other damages and traces of leaks. The defective shock-absorber is not subject to regenerative repair and should be replaced. Check a condition of rubber plugs, in case of need make replacement. Clamp the shock-absorber vertically in a vice (for a finger of the bottom support). Undertake the top part of the shock-absorber and, having pulled, lift up it against the stop, then slowly lower down, having completely compressed the shock-absorber. Repeat procedure of the last paragraph six-eight times, having completely eliminated люфты, defined by air present at the shock-absorber. If люфты are not eliminated, the shock-absorber should be replaced.
