Check of level of cooling liquid

On the cold engine check level of cooling liquid in a broad tank of system of cooling. Level should be between risks of MIN and the MOVE on a tank wall.
If level of liquid is on a mark of MIN or below, it is necessary to add it, having finished level to a mark the MOVE. Uncover a radiator and make sure that the radiator is filled with cooling liquid. In case of need add.
Start the engine and check it on leakages of cooling liquid. In case of need make radiator check by pressure for the purpose of determination of suitability it to the further use and identifications of microsources of leaks.

Uncover a radiator.
In salon of the car transfer control levers a heater to situation NOTES (Hotly).
Establish under a drain stopper of a radiator reception container. Turn out a drain stopper.
Turn out a drain stopper of the block of the cylinders, located under a final collector in a back part of the engine. On models of 3.0 l weaken a stopper of production of the air, located near a branch pipe of an exit of water on the inlet pipeline.
On termination of an effluence of water screw into place a drain stopper of a radiator. Do not tighten it too hardly.
Grease with hermetic a drain stopper of the block of cylinders and screw it into place, having strongly tightened.
Fill in in system fresh the cooling liquid, being correct mix of water with antifreeze (with anticorrosive additives) (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).
On models of 3.0 l tighten a stopper of production of air.
At the removed cover of a radiator start the engine and accurately add cooling liquid in process of an exit of air jams.
Screw a cover of a radiator and wait engine warming up to the normal working temperature, the thermostat which was accompanied by opening. Check the engine on existence of leakages of water.
Muffle the engine and after its cooling once again check level of cooling liquid.
Add liquid in a broad tank, having finished its level to a mark the MOVE. Check correctness of installation and a tightening of covers of a radiator and a broad tank.

Models of 4.2 l of late years of the release, equipped with system of injection of fuel (EFI)
Procedure practically does not differ from described above for models of early years of release.

The exception makes only existence on the engine of a stopper of production of air (as on models of 3.0 l) which here is located ahead of the delivery chamber of an air path (see an accompanying illustration). Thus, on engines of 4.2 l of EFI it is necessary to execute all additional procedures concerning models of 3.0 l. |
Removal
|
|
Merge from a radiator cooling liquid.
Disconnect from a radiator the top hose and perelivny a hose of a broad tank (the radiator with accompanying components is shown on an accompanying illustration).
On the models equipped with the thermosensitive sensor switch of a radiator disconnect from the sensor electroconducting.
On models of 4.2 l disconnect from a radiator the bottom and ventilating hoses.
On models of 3.0 l disconnect the bottom hose of a radiator from a distributing pipe.
On models from AT disconnect from a radiator hoses of a maslookhladitel. To Zakuporta the ends of hoses in order to avoid hit in a maslookhladitel of dirt and for the purpose of minimization of losses of transmission liquid.
Give bolts of fastening of the top casing of a radiator.
Release clamps of fastening of the top casing of a radiator to bottom and remove the top casing from the car.
Remove the bottom casing of a radiator.
Give bolts of fastening of the radiator, located in the top part of the last and remove a radiator from the car.

At removal from the car of the radiator which was in the use it is not necessary to leave for a long time it empty. It is necessary to ship a radiator in a bath with pure water, or it is simple to fill in in it water. Otherwise there can be an engine overheat at its start in the operation, caused by circulation violation in cooling system at the expense of obstruction of internal channels of a radiator by the dried-up deposits. |

Washing and cleaning
|

Remove a radiator from the car.
|
|
Connect to an entrance branch pipe of a radiator a garden hose and make obratnopotochny washing of a radiator (see an accompanying illustration). Continue radiator washing until pure water will not start to follow from it.

If excessive increase of a pressure in a hose or a weak exit of water point to strong violation of passableness of internal channels of a radiator which do not give in to elimination by obratnopotochny washing, it is necessary to deliver a radiator for regenerative repair in a specialized workshop. |
Establish a radiator vertically (as it is established on the car) and wash out it outside from both parties a water stream under pressure. In order to avoid damage of plates of the heat exchanger try not to bring a hose nozzle to a radiator closer than on 40 ÷ 50 see. Continue washing until all mud deposits will be removed from gaps between heat exchanger plates.

Installation
|
|
Installation is made upside-down.
Get radiator assembly in an impellent compartment of the car, having tracked, that two obrezinenny directing a pin correctly settled down on a cross-section beam.
Establish a radiator into position and strongly tighten fixing bolts.
On models from AT take caps from hoses of a maslookhladitel and connect the last to unions of lateral tanks of a radiator. Reliably tighten collars of fastening of hoses.
There where it is required connect electroconducting to the thermosensitive sensor switch.
Connect to a radiator hoses, having tracked correctness of installation of fixing collars.
Fill in in cooling system cooling liquid. Start the engine and check it on leakages of water.
On models from AT check level of transmission liquid, also check transmission on existence of signs of leaks.
