Replacement of spherical caps (vyzhimny jams)

For the purpose of engine cooling in block molding to a head of cylinders the set of the water channels equipped with technological openings is provided.
|
These openings are muffled by special vyzhimny jams (spherical caps) which are subject to replacement at each cleaning of water shirts of the engine, and also in case of detection of the defects caused by impact of corrosion. On an accompanying illustration the vyzhimny jams located on the right wall of the engine of 4.2 l are shown.

At detection of defects even one vyzhimny stopper it will be correct to replace everything them them. |
Empty cooling system.
Remove the components/units established in an impellent compartment of the car and limiting access to vyzhimny jams subject to replacement.
By means of a hammer and a center punch begin to knock external stopper edges from one of its parties in an opening.
Grasp nippers the opposite edge of a stopper turned out outside and take it from the opening.
Carefully clean and dry an opening under installation of a vyzhimny stopper.
Slightly grease external edge of a new stopper and a wall of a landing opening with connecting hermetic of the Stag type.
Put a stopper to an opening and by means of a piece of a pipe or a replaceable face head of suitable diameter (equal to external diameter of a stopper) заглубите a stopper perpendicularly in an opening.

The slightest distortion of a stopper in an opening can lead to development of leakages of cooling liquid. |
Establish the components removed for ensuring access.
Fill cooling system. At a navernuty cover of a radiator start the engine, warm up it to normal working temperature and check on leakages of cooling liquid.
