Service of the main brake cylinder (GTTs)

Removal and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Cover with a protective cover the right forward mudguard. Location of GTTs and accompanying components in an impellent compartment of the car is shown on an accompanying illustration.
  1. Release a clip and disconnect the electric socket from the lower part of the tank of brake liquid.
  2. Disconnect hydraulic tubes from the GTTs case. To Zakuporta the ends of tubes and an opening on the cylinder case in order to avoid hit in hydraulic system of dirt and for the purpose of minimization of losses of liquid.
  3. Give nuts of fastening of GTTs, take aside a basic arm of the control valve of the vacuum amplifier and remove the main cylinder from the car.

Removal


At casual hit of brake liquid on the painted surfaces of a body of the car immediately wash away it a plentiful quantity of water and allow a surface to dry a natural way - do not wipe it rags.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation fill the GTTs tank with pure brake liquid and several times rock cylinder pistons so that liquid started to be pushed out through openings under installation of brake tubes.
  2. All fixture tighten with demanded effort.
  3. Track reliability of fastening of electroconducting to the lower part of the tank.
  4. In summary pump over system.
  5. Make trial runs of the car. Checking serviceability of functioning of brakes.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After removal of GTTs merge from its tank brake liquid. GTTs components are shown on an accompanying illustration.

7 — the secondary piston
8 — a remote washer
9 — a spring
10 — plugs
11 — sealing plugs
12 — the GTTs case
  1. Having carefully hooked, take the tank from rubber sealing plugs through passage. Uncover the tank and take the mesh filter and a float.
  2. Remove from the GTTs case sealing plugs of the tank and will throw out them.
  3. Unbend lock uvulas of a cover of the limiter from a flute on the GTTs case end, uncover the limiter the cylinder. If lock uvulas are injured, replace a limiter cover.
  4. Take from the cylinder of assembly of primary and secondary pistons with a returnable spring, - remember their landing situation.

In case of need knock on GTTs end face with wooden whetstone for release and the subsequent extraction of pistons.

Cleaning and condition check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wash out all GTTs components methyl alcohol.

Do not use for this purpose gasoline, kerosene or other cleaning solvents.

  1. Check passableness of all liquid channels.
  2. Check GTTs mirror on existence of signs of wear and cavities. In case of need replace the cylinder. Do not try to restore a cylinder mirror by its honingovaniye.
  3. Check returnable springs on existence of cracks and weakening of developed effort. Replace the defective.
  4. If cuffs of pistons are replaced, remember adjusting situation old (on both pistons). By means of a blunt tool remove cuffs and will throw out them. If are going to use a firm set for major maintenance of GTTs, will throw out also old pistons.

There where possibly, surely use the special firm remnabor including in the structure new cuffs and pistons. Use of such firm sets will allow to prolong block service life substantially.

Assembly

Assembly is made as it should be, the return to a dismantling order.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation grease cuffs of pistons with pure brake liquid or special greasing (for rubber components). When clothing on pistons track correctness of orientation of cuffs.
  2. Grease a mirror of the main cylinder with pure brake liquid and establish in the cylinder a returnable spring and assemblies of pistons (in a former order).
  3. Drown pistons in the cylinder, establish a restrictive cover and bend lock uvulas in a flute on the GTTs case end.
  4. Grease sealing plugs of the tank with pure brake liquid or special greasing (for rubber components) and plant plugs in the cylinder case.
  5. Push the tank into sealing plugs through passage, establish in the tank a float and the mesh filter.
  6. Establish GTTs on the car.
