Removal and installation

For performance described below procedures the special throne jack of type is required. Works without its use are connected with the raised travmoopasnost in view of essential weight of assembly.

    Tire out the car back wheels on a platform, cock the parking brake and block back wheels wedges. To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on props. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery. Remove forward seats and the central console. Give fixing screws and remove overlays of thresholds. Remove a forward rug. Remove handles from levers of gear shifting and modes of a transfer case. Give screws of fastening of the panel of a floor. Remove the floor panel with rubber protective casings and take it from the car. Give fixing bolts and remove from transmission a casing of a drive of gear shifting assembled with RKPP control lever. Release the parking brake, remove a clip and take a finger of fastening of a driving cable to a control lever the parking brake. Weaken fixing nuts, liberate a cable cover from an arm and push a cable through the floor panel. Turn out a drain stopper and lower transmission oil from a transmission case. After end of an effluence of oil grease a carving with hermetic and screw a stopper into place.
    Mark position of forward and back driveshafts from each other, and also situation them concerning a flange of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer (see an accompanying illustration), a flange of a transfer case and a drum of the parking brake.
    Give bolts and nuts and remove driveshafts from the car. Unbend back a rubber protective cover, unscrew a nut of fastening of a rod of switching to a control lever of a transfer case, remove a washer and the remote plug. Disconnect a switching rod from a control lever. Give bolts of fastening of an arm and remove the lever of switching of a transfer case from a transmission case. Disconnect ventilating hoses and electroconducting from cases of a transfer case and transmission. Get a telezhechny jack under a transfer case and fix on it assembly by means of a sling or a chain. Give bolts of fastening of a transfer case to transmission and remove a box from the car.

The weight of a transfer case makes about 50 kg, and therefore originators of this Management urgently recommend use for its removal of a telezhechny jack.

    Give fixing bolts and remove the executive cylinder from a coupling case. Fix the cylinder aside, having tied up it a wire to a chassis element. Give a nut with a bolt and remove rubber pillows from a basic arm подвеса systems of production of the fulfilled gases Disconnect electroconducting from a starter, give fixing bolts and remove a starter from the car. There where it is applied, remove from transmission the RTO block and fix it aside. Give bolts of fastening of a dome of coupling to the engine, remove intensifying brackets and a back guard of the engine. Get a special jack under a case of a transmission and a chain tie up to it transmission. Prop up transmission by a jack, give nuts and bolts of fastening of a cross-section beam to a frame of the chassis and transmission support. Remove a cross-section beam from the car. Carefully lower a jack, having tracked that there were no tense wires and the hoses connected to the engine, and carefully take transmission from under the car.

Do not allow in the course of removal of transmission of a povisaniye it in all weight on a conducted disk of coupling in order to avoid an exit of the last out of operation.

    Check serviceability of functioning of coupling.

Installation is made upside-down.


    Put moderate amount of greasing on a shlitsa of primary shaft of RKPP, oil a contact surface of the directing plug. Check purity of interfaced surfaces of a back guard of the engine and a coupling dome. A flange of the last grease with Loctite 587 hermetic, or equivalent to it. Lift transmission by a jack and level it concerning the engine, having tracked that interfaced surfaces of a dome of coupling and a back guard of the engine appeared parallel each other. Having established transmission on transfer, turn a secondary shaft for combination шлицов pins primary with reciprocal shlitsa in a nave of a conducted disk of coupling. Press transmission to the engine, tighten with demanded effort all bolts and connect in a starting position electroconducting and ventilating hoses. Establish into place the executive cylinder of coupling, in case of need pump over hydraulic system. Impose a hermetic pillow on a landing flange of a starter and establish the last on a distance. Having tracked combination of landing labels, establish into place driveshafts. Connect and adjust a cable of a drive of the parking brake.
    Establish assembly of a casing of a drive of gear shifting with the gear shifting lever. Do not forget to replace laying and track, that long fixing bolts were screwed in the points shown on an accompanying illustration (And).
    Fill in in transmission necessary amount of oil of a demanded grade. Grease with hermetic a carving of a jellied stopper and strongly tighten the last.

Models of 3.0 l


Procedures of removal and installation of transmission are similar 4.2 l considered above for models taking into account listed below the moments.


    After removal of assembly of the lever of gear shifting with a casing of a drive of switching by means of a special magnet take from a lengthening casing a spring and a ball. At removal of the executive cylinder of coupling give bolts of fastening of an arm of a hydraulic tube to the engine.



    At installation of assembly of a casing of a drive of switching with the lever of gear shifting grease its interfaced surface with Loctite 587 hermetic (or equivalent to it).
    Do not forget to establish into place a spring and a ball. Fixing bolts with heads of 12 mm roll in provisions A, 13 mm - in provisions B (see an accompanying illustration). All fixture tighten with demanded effort.
