Power supply system service (fuel injection)

  1. Give screws and lift the panel of the relay of an impellent compartment in the neighbourhood with the battery. Uncover and take a safety lock of the fuel pump on 15 And.

  2. Disconnect a hose of supply of fuel from the fuel highway.
  3. By means of a piece of a fuel hose and reliable collars establish the three-running union between a hose of supply of fuel and the fuel highway.
  1. Connect to free branch of the union a manometer with a measurement range to 600 kPas (see an accompanying illustration). Make sure that all connections are capable to sustain expected pressure.
  1. Connect a negative wire to the battery and check a power supply system on existence of signs of external leaks.
  2. Start the engine for three minutes on single turns and measure pressure of fuel, - it should equal about 235 kPas.

If the temperature of the engine is higher 90 ° With on release models till October, 1994, depression giving on a regulator of pressure will be cut off for three minutes after engine start for the purpose of lifting of fuel pressure.

  1. If pressure of fuel insufficiently, check passableness of the fuel filter and lines of supply of fuel. Also check a condition of the mesh filter of the fuel pump.
  2. If pressure is excessively high, check correctness of connection of vacuum hoses of a regulator of pressure and passableness of the line of return of fuel. On release models till October, 1994 connect a vacuum hose directly between a regulator of pressure and the inlet pipeline. If now pressure settles into shape, check serviceability of functioning of the electromagnetic valve of management of a regulator. If pressure on the former is excessively high, replace a regulator.
  3. Disconnect a vacuum hose from a regulator of pressure of fuel and make sure of pressure increase approximately to 294 kPas. If increase of pressure did not occur, replace a regulator.
  4. Connect a vacuum hose to a regulator of pressure and muffle the engine. Make sure that pressure continues to keep within not less than five minutes.

At the beginning small pressure decrease can take place. It normally and should not cause concern.

  1. If pressure does not keep, act as follows:
    1. Press a hose of return of fuel on a pressure regulator. If pressure drop stops, replace a regulator.
    2. If pressure continues to fall, remove a clip from a returnable hose and press a hose of supply of fuel on the fuel filter. If pressure drop stops, eliminate defect of the control valve of a gasoline pump, or replace the pump.
    3. If pressure all the same continues to fall, it is necessary to check injectors on leaks. For this purpose remove from the engine the fuel highway with injectors, without disconnecting hoses of giving and fuel return, include ignition and make external survey of injectors.
  2. On termination of check dump pressure in a power supply system and remove a manometer and the three-running union.

Service of the fuel pump

Check

  1. Execute the checks described in subsection, devoted to problem diagnostics of start of the engine in road conditions for models of late years of release.
  2. If there is no gasoline pump food at serviceable relays and a safety lock, check an electroconducting condition between the relay and the pump, execute necessary repair.
  3. If a food moves, but the pump does not function, measure resistance between a green-red wire of the pump and a black wire. If the result of measurement appears not 0.5 Ohm, replace the pump.

Removal and installation

Removal and installation

Removal

  1. Dump pressure in a power supply system.
  1. Disconnect from a regulator fuel and vacuum hoses (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Give fixing screws and remove a regulator from the fuel highway. Will throw out a sealing ring.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

  1. Establish on a regulator a new sealing ring.
  2. Track reliability of a tightening of fixture.
  3. Check a power supply system on existence of signs of external leakages of fuel.

Service of the fuel highway and fuel injectors

Removal and installation

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dump pressure in a power supply system.
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Disconnect a cable of a drive of a butterfly valve from draft on the case of a throttle and the arm.
  4. Weaken collars, give a fixing bolt and remove an air line with the exhaust silencer from the case of a throttle and a measuring instrument of an air stream.
  5. Disconnect electroconducting from the sensor switch of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS), the valve of additional air (AAS) and the device of compensation of turns of fast idling (FICD).
  6. Merge cooling liquid, having lowered its level is lower than level of an arrangement of okhladitelny hoses of the delivery chamber.
  7. Disconnect okhladitelny hoses from the delivery chamber.
  8. Mark and disconnect from the delivery chamber a hose of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, vacuum hoses and a hose of ventilation of the engine.
  9. Give fixing bolts and remove the delivery chamber with laying from the inlet pipeline.

Access to three of fixing bolts of the delivery chamber is possible from under the inlet pipeline.

  1. Weaken collars and disconnect gasoline pipe lines from the fuel highway.
  2. Disconnect a vacuum hose of a regulator of pressure of fuel.
  3. Disconnect electroconducting from each of injectors of fuel and release clips of clamps of fastening of a plait of wires on the fuel highway.
  4. Give fixing bolts and remove assembly of the fuel highway with injectors from the car.
  5. Take injectors from the highway.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Without fail replace sealing rings of injectors. Before installation grease rings with technical vaseline.
  2. Fill cooling system.
  3. Check a power supply system on existence of signs of external leakages of fuel.

Check of a contour of injectors

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect electroconducting from fuel injectors.
  2. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between plugs of each of injectors. If resistance falls outside the limits 10 ÷ 14 Ohm, it is necessary to replace a defective injector.
  3. Connect a lamp sampler on a light-emitting diode serially between plugs of the electric socket of wires of each of injectors, including thus a starter. The lamp should light up. Otherwise check a condition of fusible inserts near the battery. On release models between October, 1994 and check a condition of the relay of the fuel pump August, 1995. If fusible inserts and the relay as it should be, it is necessary to check an electroconducting and ECU condition. Address in dealer office of the manufacturing company of the car.
  4. For check of serviceability of functioning of injectors execute the following procedures:
    1. Connect electroconducting to injectors and start the engine.
    2. At the engine working at single turns serially disconnect electroconducting from each of injectors for the period of no more than five seconds. At shutdown of a serviceable injector turns of the engine will fall with simultaneous violation of their stability.
    3. If changes in frequency of rotation and stability of turns does not occur, the corresponding injector is jammed, or for other reason its passableness is broken. Nevertheless, before removing injectors for detailed survey and pro-cleaning, check spark existence on candle wires.
