System of ventilation of a case

Action principle

The principle of functioning of system of operated ventilation of a case (PCV) is presented on an accompanying illustration.

Karternye the evaporations including in the structure combustion which has broken from chambers bypassing piston rings gases, arrive in the block of an oil separator located in a cover of a head of cylinders. Oil through drain openings comes back back to the engine, and in an oil separator on a hose from an air purifier clean air moves. Air mixes up with karterny gases and via the valve of management of ventilation (PCV) arrives in the inlet pipeline, and from there - in combustion chambers.

Most effectively the system functions at high turns of the engine when small depth of depression in the inlet pipeline provides complete opening of the PCV valve. Respectively, at the closed butterfly valves when in the inlet pipeline deep depression is formed, efficiency of ventilation of a case is minimum.

In strongly worn-out engine when level breaking in a case from chambers of combustion of gases a temple, the part of karterny evaporations gets back to an air purifier regardless of the provision of butterfly valves.

Service

The system is subject to regular service. The special attention should be turned for the moments listed below.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Check passableness and a condition of rubber hoses of system. Replace the defective. Check a condition of sealing laying of a mouth of the gulf of impellent oil and measuring щупа. Replace defective and/or suspicious a sealant. Check serviceability of functioning of the PCV valve.

Check of functioning of the PCV valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Disconnect PCV hose from a cover of a head of cylinders. Start the engine and leave it working at single turns.
      Press a finger by the open end of a hose (see an accompanying illustration). Depression, otherwise passableness of the PCV valve should be felt is broken. Clean the valve or replace it.
